Who we are

Cedar Hollow (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates this website and the woodland retreats described on it. If you have any question about how we handle your information, email hello@cedarhollow.uk.

What we collect

We collect only what you choose to send us. When you complete the enquiry form on our homepage, we receive:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • your phone number, if you provide one (it is optional);
  • which retreat you are interested in, if you select one;
  • the message you write.

We do not currently run analytics or advertising trackers on this website, and we do not buy personal data from third parties.

How we use it

We use the details you send to reply to your enquiry, to answer questions about availability and our retreats, and to keep a record of the conversation. We do not add you to a marketing list on the strength of an enquiry, and we do not sell your information.

Our lawful basis

Under the UK GDPR we rely on:

  • Legitimate interests — responding to an enquiry you have sent us;
  • Contract — where we are taking steps at your request before or during a booking;
  • Consent — for anything you have explicitly opted into.

Who else sees it

Enquiries submitted on this site are delivered to us by email, which means they pass through our website host and our email provider on the way. Those providers process the data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Bookings for our retreats are handled on partner websites, which operate under their own privacy policies. Please read those before booking.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and any resulting stay, and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. If you would like your enquiry deleted sooner, ask us and we will remove it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. To exercise any of these, email hello@cedarhollow.uk.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
